Andy Riise
Ingebrigt A.L. "Andy" Riise is best described as the fullback he has always been on and off the gridiron; a passionate, tough and selfless teammate who makes plays when the game is on line. His philosophy of competition is characterized by giving your best efforts in all life endeavors to improve yourself, your team, and your community. Best known for his humor and high energy, Andy is a servant leader, teacher, and facilitator who currently serves as the Chief Science Officer for Mission 6 Zero.
Originally from Oakdale, CA, attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY where he studied Law and Systems Engineering. He was a two-time letterman for the Army football team which began his interest in Sport Psychology.
As an active duty Army officer (Lieutenant Colonel), he has served in a number staff and command positions to include leading Soldiers during three combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. Having previously served in both the 7th and 10th Special Forces Groups, Andy is a Paratrooper, a certified Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and expert in Fires.
Andy holds a Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Argosy University. He has taught in West Point’s Center for Enhanced Performance and was selected to teach at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership.
Andy’s academic expertise is teaching the evidence-based practices from Sport and Performance Psychology. He has helped lead multiple Department of Defense programs that provide mental health, resilience, and performance enhancement services to Soldiers, families, and service members.
He is currently the Deputy Director for the Combined Arms Training Division at the Army’s Maneuver Center of Excellence. As an Eagle Scout, he volunteers in his sons’ local Boy Scout Troop and contributes to several non-profits that assist Veterans and their families. He is married to the former Katie Ori of Orange Texas. Along with their four children, they currently reside in Fort Benning, GA.
